Tropical mould is the killer issue — not dust.
Southern-state aircon technicians treat a clean as a dust-and-debris job. In Cairns that misses 80% of what’s going on. The wet-tropics climate sits at 25–30°C with 70–95% humidity for most of the year — perfect breeding conditions for Cladosporium and Aspergillus, the two tropical mould species that colonise the evaporator coil and drain pan. They form a black biofilm you can’t see from outside, release spores back into the room every time the fan kicks on, and cause the classic sour-musty smell. A proper Cairns clean has to chemically treat the coil and biocide the drain pan — not just rinse the filter.

Northern beaches suburbs — Trinity Beach, Yorkeys Knob, Holloways Beach — sit metres from open ocean, with onshore breezes carrying chlorides directly onto the outdoor compressor. Booking
Phone or online quote request. Most cleans within the week. Same/next-day for body-corp or commercial emergencies (mould smell, dripping unit, not cooling at all).
On-site
60–90 min per indoor split, half-day for ducted. Cover the room, full strip-down of the head unit, chemical coil clean, biocide drain pan, refit and run a temperature differential test.
Refrigerant check
Gauge set on the service port, pressure check against ambient. If pressure is low we leak-test with UV dye + nitrogen and quote an ARCtick recharge separately. R-32 or R-410A as required.
Service report
Dated, signed service report with before/after photos, temperature differential reading, refrigerant pressure, and ARCtick licence number. Goes to your inbox for the manufacturer warranty file.
Annual reminder
We diary your next service 12 months out and send a reminder. Most clients sign onto an annual plan after the first clean — cheaper and locks in the warranty paperwork.
